Philadelphia police arrested 21-year-old Keon King on October 15 and charged him with kidnapping in the disappearance of 23-year-old Kada Scott, who was last seen on October 4 after leaving her overnight shift at an assisted living facility in Chestnut Hill. Authorities said King was the last known person in contact with Scott before her phone activity ceased; Scott remains missing and no homicide classification has been made, officials said.
Hours after the arrest, investigators recovered a metallic gold 1999 Toyota Camry with Pennsylvania plate MSX0797 at the Gypsy Lane Condos in East Falls, a vehicle previously sought in the case; police said physical evidence at the scene tied Scott to the location. The case has been transferred to the homicide unit for investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting. Officials also noted King’s prior kidnapping and strangulation case from earlier this year, which prosecutors are moving to refile as the search for Scott continues.
