Once I was at dinner in NYC with a great screenwriter. As we ate, he checked his phone a couple of times, furious. Turned out someone was editing his Wikipedia entry in ways he found deceptive. Couldn't do a damn thing. I'll use Grokipedia now. I try not to rely on these tools much but I do like to know the populations of towns and cities.

GEORGE FLOYD PAGE SHOWDOWN: ELON’S GROKIPEDIA CALLS OUT WIKIPEDIA’S BIAS Elon’s new AI-powered Grokipedia is taking a direct swing at what many call Wikipedia’s built-in political bias, and it’s doing it by rewriting how the internet handles controversial history. The first major test? The George Floyd entry. Wikipedia opens by describing Floyd as “an African American man murdered by a white police officer,” centering the event as a racial tragedy and catalyst for global protests. His criminal past and toxicology details are buried later, framed as irrelevant to the “larger systemic racism narrative.” Grokipedia flips that entirely, starting with Floyd’s criminal history, toxicology results (11 ng/mL fentanyl), and health conditions, before even addressing the protests. It calls the aftermath “civil unrest” that caused billions in property damage, presenting both the riots and reforms side by side. Critics say Wikipedia’s framing “programs emotion first, facts later,” while Grokpedia’s blunt chronological style strips away ideology and leaves readers to judge for themselves. Supporters call it “the end of narrative engineering.” Even early comparisons back that up: Wikipedia’s lead hides police officers’ race-neutral descriptions and minimizes medical examiner data, while Grokipedia cites it upfront. No “white cop vs. Black victim” framing, just evidence. Elon’s team says the goal is transparency over tribalism, Grokipedia’s AI curates “verifiable facts” without human editorial influence, aiming to “decentralize control of knowledge.” Detractors argue that this “neutral tone” subtly favors right-leaning interpretations, especially when race or politics are involved. Still, the difference is stark: Wikipedia emphasizes systemic racism and activism, Grokipedia emphasizes data, context, and consequence, right down to riot damage costs and autopsy reports.

As I have said, Grokipedia is exactly what you would expect it to be. Musk is trying to control what information and disinformation you get, and to push the world further to the right. He hates both facts and freedom of speech

I just read the Grokipedia entry of yours truly. It is exponentially fuller and better than the one of Wikipedia. The only problem is that Grokipedia does not mention my ridiculous good looks nor does it reference my otherworldly silky soccer skills.

Grokipedia enrages Wikipedia editors. Because Grokipedia does not need authors, and certainly does not need editors. They are out of a job, realizing their high priesthood of truth control is forever gone. They are replaced as of yesterday. It does not even really need contributors. As new events unfold, they will be integrated automatically. The past, already encoded and uploaded as the sum of human knowledge to date. Powered by Grok, who is now the world’s historian, watching and documenting its creators.

I just read the current grokipedia article on the Great Barrington Declaration. It's balanced & almost entirely factually accurate (though it still has me as Stanford prof.). Wikipedia, by contrast, is biased, bordering on libelous. Thank you @elonmusk !

This is really the best take. Grokipedia is a public second brain for Grok. Each version with go through the PKM, enhance it, scale it, and discover new facts and patterns. Wikipedia is dead. It cannot compete with this hybrid AI/Human paradigm. Also notice how Grok doesn't label things based upon an ideological spectrum. Pick anyone on the right or any non-mainstream idea and you'll see labels like racist, pseudoscience, nazi, etc. There will usually be a debate in the talk page and the article is taken as a Canon. It's one ideology that is utterly intolerant of other views. I'm glad to see the monopoly break up and die.

Just 5 minutes on Grokipedia reveals that Wikipedia has been pushing far-left talking points for years, and Grokipedia is to the right of that - toward the center. Wikipedia consistently demonizes prominent voices on the right within the first few sentences.

Nice work by the @xAI team on Grokipedia.com! The goal here is to create an open source, comprehensive collection of all knowledge. Then place copies of that etched in a stable oxide in orbit, the Moon and Mars to preserve it for the future. Foundation.
